What is a community group?
In essence, a community group simply does life together. We meet on a weekly basis to grow in our relationship with Jesus Christ, to build lifelong friendships, to be encouraged and to be part of a family that always has your back!
Our mission is to provide a predictable small group environment where people experience authentic community and spiritual growth.
Why a community group?
If you distilled down the essence of the Bible, specifically the letters in the New Testament, to one word, that word could be ... community.
Each book in the New Testament is about imperfect people learning to love, forgive, embrace and relate with other imperfect people. The Bible is saturated with relational language - forgive, share, serve, encourage, stimulate, respect, speak truth, show compassion. It is, at the core, a call to authentic, life enhancing and life changing community.
Who we are
We come from diverse backgrounds, careers, struggles and life experiences. We span a wide range of ages and seasons of life. Some of us have followed Christ for decades, and some for only a few weeks. Some have believed in God since childhood but spent their lives as "sideline Christians" until recently reinvigorating their faith. And still others are in the searching phase. You do not need to come to a community group with all the tough "God questions" already figured out.
A quick word on who we are NOT... there are no fakers or perfect people here. We are real. A community group is a place to let your guard down and find total acceptance - no matter where you've come from or what you're going through.
What it looks like
We meet for two hours one weekday night per week in one of the member's homes. We eat great food and socialize. And we dig deeper into the Bible to find ways to meaningfully apply Christ's message in our everyday lives. We experience life-changing spiritual growth and healing and are challenged to live out the lives Christ intended for us. We strive for authentic community, which, to us, means belonging, care and accountability.
Our goal
...is that community groups aren't just another program offered by the church, but that we actually become a place where you experience authentic community and spiritual growth. Where life happens – meaning, when we’re either bursting with excitement over some great news or we’re in the midst of a tragedy – our community group is one of the very first places we share that news. We celebrate together… and sometimes cry together… and always pray together.
